How does reconciliation work with SAM Foundation ?

Hello,

I'm trying to understand how reconciliation is supposed to work with SAM Foundation. My understanding was that this is supposed to work with Software Discovery models. But I see that Software Discovery model is empty with SAM foundation and there is no "new" button to let us create the records.

In the documentation (https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/rome-it-service-management/page/product/software-asset-management...), I see that it's beeing asked to activate Discovery.

But we don't have ITOM Discovery licences on the project (However we plan to use the SCCM integration); does this mean that the SAM reconciliation feature is not meant to work without Discovery ? Or is it "allowed" to install Discovery (without additional cost) just for this purpose ?

Or is there another way to create the Software Discovery model ?

@Fred Jean

1. software discovery model gets created when a version of software is discovered in a network environment.

2.to discover softwares in a network ,there should be ITOM Discovery plugin activated (which needs subscription).

Please check below link for reference.

Thanks for your feedback Manjusha,

However I forget to specify that we don't have Discovery but expect to use the SCCM integration (which can create the software installation records). Do you know if this would also create these Software Discovery models ?

Hello, It seems Discovery Models are also created by the SCCM plugin (without Discovery).
