We utilize multiple SaaS application in day 2 day work.
We are planning to utilize SAM to manage SaaS application.
how does SAM detect/discover a SaaS application, as we access SaaS application via Browser.
Thanks for guidance.

further I read and understood.
we can integrate the SaaS provider or SSO provider to get the application & its usage details.
But we have new application in organization which is not integrated with ServiceNow or not yet on SSO. How can we identify & capture its usage in SAM ??

Hi @Community Alums,
1) you could try to connect the new application with the help of the SaaS framework for custom integrations - SaaS License Connections
2) Rollout Digital End-User Experience (DEX) (extra module & costs) - "Use theSaaSdetection report to discover and manage allSaaSapplications accessed via a browser and configured within theServiceNow® Digital End-User Experience(DEX) product. The SaaS applications that can be managed through this report can be paid or free ones." - SaaS detection report

Thanks for quick reply.
I read and further and understood DEX support only reporting of known & pre-configured using SaaS license connection.
How will it detect if a new SaaS solution is used by one of employee. Since this SaaS solution was not connected using point 1 suggested above.
Thanks,
Pawan

Hi @Community Alums,
Unfortunately, I have not yet tested the product myself. The documentation can be interpreted in both ways, since further down it also speaks of “not managed” and “no software model”. I also assume that ServiceNow provides a correspondingly up-to-date list of common SaaS applications here. And we have to admit that if someone uses a new/unknown SaaS application from a start-up, we probably wouldn't recognize this directly from the browser history. Please keep us updated if you test it.
Best, Dennis
