Hey all-
We are in the process of switching on SAM to optimize the usage of SaaS applications.
I am trying to understand the below:
- We are leveraging OOTB SaaS Connectors where applicable, but there are a bunch of applications where the connector doesn't exist. For these apps, is it possible to ingest data directly into samp_sw_subscription table? (manually or via an API).
The primary driver for this is it is practically very challenging to create custom connections for individual application (over 200) where there is no OOTB connector.
Has anyone tried this?

Thanks Mike, however, as I mentioned - one of the main challenge is we can't practically create custom connections for ~200 applications where the OOTB SaaS connectors are not there.
I want to understand if manually ingesting into samp_sw_subscription would help? (similar to how SAM Admins are expected to create manual records)
Does it impact any other calculation? Do we also need software usage[samp_sw_usage] to be imported?

If your use case is to reconcile sw entitlements with subscriptions, then manual imports into the samp_sw_subscription table would serve this purpose.
