Hello @dreinhardt
One of my client instance is showing following error reason as we import the entitlement data. We tested several times and it is successful for other publisher but failing specifically for "Palo Alto Network".
Moreover, system is not letting us create custom software model for this publisher and showing following error:
I checked further to understand the reason and found multiple entries of this multiple in samp_sw_publisher list :
Not sure why we are not able to create software model or import any entitlements for this publisher. Could you please guide on this.
Thank you,
Parul Chaudhary

This is indeed a very interesting error that I have not yet encountered when using the SAMP Entitlement Upload (also in connection with Custom Vendor & Products).

The error message shown “Product model and barcode already exist” is incomprehensible to me. I have globally searched the business rules and client scripts for this sentence in the “Script” column, but found nothing.
Could you please check the product model table [cmdb_model] and search for the model in scope. Not every software model has to be in Product Model at the same time.
The entitlement upload error could be a side effect of the software model issue, but not sure.

Multiple entries in samp_sw_publisher for Palo is fine, software was maybe released under various vendor namens. For the companies you could try to delete one of the duplicated in your non-production instance , e.g., line item 2.
As these are certainly only assumptions and guesses, I would still advise you to make a support case and update this thread later with the solution.
