Hi Mike,

com.snc.asset_management is the Hardware Asset Management plugin. This product is licensed under an ITSM subscription (IT Service Management). The Madrid Docs page for HWAM is here.

com.snc.software_asset_management is the SAM Plugin.  This product is licensed under an ITSM  Subscription for organizations who were customers in the Istanbul release or prior.  Organizations which became customers at the time of the Jakarta release or later are not eligible to use this plugin.

com.snc.sams is SAM Foundations.  This is also licensed under an ITSM subscription.  It is a Software Asset Management product utilizing the same methodologies as our subscription-based SAM product, but with many limitations.  This product isn't recommended for use except by organizations who need basic SAM functionality. The Kingston Docs page is here.

com.snc.samp is the core plugin for SAM Professional.  This is a subscription-based product.  There are several plugins to install along with the core plugin to get full functionality.  The Kingston docs page for these is here.

Hi, Daniel.

We are trying to assess in our organization if the Foundations plugin will be suficient for our needs, but can't seem to have that plugin activated on my personal developer instance.

The list of plugins available per request on the developer site doesn't include that plugin. Do you know how can I ask to install the plugin you mentioned:

On our personal developer instance?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Luis Franco

Hi Luis,

Currently, both SAM Foundations and SAM Pro are disallowed from installation into a Developer instance.
