Hi,
We deploy and use many of our applications through virtualization technology, specifically MS App-V and Citrix. While the application packages are deployed to the host servers, the applications themselves are not actually installed on any endpoints (workstations or servers) and so are not discovered by either SCCM nor SvcNow discovery as installed software. Access to these virtual apps is controlled via Active Directory user groups.
My questions is this: Can SAM Pro identify and capture these virtual deployments &usage so that these can be factored into license usage and reconciliation? What needs to be done to enable this?
Thanks in advance,
D. Gray

Hi @D_ Gray,
for Citrix please have a look into the Citrix Publisher pack, this help to get more insights (Requires ITOM Citrix Discovery) - Software Asset Management publisher pack for Citrix (servicenow.com).
The Citrix publisher pack supports Virtual Applications products (formerly XenApp) and Virtual Desktop products (formerly XenDesktop). Using this publisher pack, you can manage licenses and determine the license compliance for your Citrix products. You can gain visibility into the third-party applications that are delivered through your virtual applications and desktops. You can also gain visibility into the users that may potentially access those applications.
Best, Dennis

Thanks @dreinhardt . We do have the Citrix publisher pack and are investigating. We have more apps streamed via MS App-V. Do you know if there is SAM Pro functionality for it? It doesn't appear that the MS publisher pack includes it but we will investigate further.
