Hi all,
Is anyone using the License under management flag? I understand the need for the ability to ignore software products that are not under SAM, but I have problem with it automatically marking it as compliant.
By marking the license under management to false, it automatically makes that product compliant which raises a huge risk. How would you know if the product is no longer compliant and it requires attention?
I think that license under management -false, should have its own tab filter. ex. Published, unpublished, not managed. This way you can still see the items, see how they are reporting but they are not flooding your dashboard.
How is everyone else managing this?
Thanks
Lisa

Hi @oberlel , we’re using this quite often in our projects, e.g., to exclude all software installs for a certain environment or exclude installs or x-days and we’ve never run into the issue/result you’ve described. I created a new model, set the install condition as required, remove the flag and run a reconcile. In the workspace on product level I can see the „ignored installs“ and grouping by „actionable entity“ or the reason „excluded by LuM“ I get all my installs covered and e excluded by this rule.
Please share more details and screenshots about your issue for further support.
Best, Dennis

Hi Dennis,
From the license usage dashboard, if you flag the product as not under management, does it populate in the dashboard still?
Here is an example. Xnip on a mac. Licensable product that we do not have an entitlement entered.
At this point and time, it is not under management by the SAM team. We unmarked the license under management flag.
Now on our dashboard, it lists the software as compliant, when technically it isn't.
Thanks
