SAP Entitlement import issue

Hi All,

We're presently in the process of uploading entitlement data for SAP and have come across an issue where the SAP license metric doesn't align with the software model. Specifically, it states that the combination of the metric group 'SAP' and the license metric 'named users' is only valid for SAP Named User software models. Could someone kindly provide guidance on how to diagnose and resolve this problem? Additionally, could you provide insights into the SAP entitlement upload process in ServiceNow in case there are any overlooked steps or details

1) Ensure that named user is present in the SAP named user table

2) Use product name "Named User" to import any SAP named user entitlement

Hi @snow_impl_user

Named User are available in SAP named user table.
When creating a software model for SAP, how do I specify the actual SAP product if I choose "Named User" as the product?

Thanks

The SAP product is "Named users" and the metric is "Named User". This will work

Hello @Sujithra Govind ,

The issue you described seems to indicate that there is a mismatch between the license metric defined in your SAP entitlement data and the software model configuration in ServiceNow. Specifically, the combination of the metric group "SAP" and the license metric "named users" is only valid for SAP Named User software models.

To diagnose and resolve this issue, you can try the following:

1. Review your SAP entitlement data: Double-check that your entitlement data accurately reflects the license metrics and other relevant information for your SAP products. Make sure that you are using the correct metric group for each product.

2. Check your Software Model configuration: Verify that your Software Model configuration in ServiceNow aligns with your SAP entitlement data. Ensure that each software model has the correct license metrics assigned based on its product.

3. Run an import set transform map test: Test importing sample records from your SAP entitlement data into ServiceNow using an import set transform map to ensure they are mapped correctly to fields in ServiceNow.

4. Review logs for errors: Check system logs or other error messages related to importing or processing SAP entitlement data into ServiceNow to identify any potential issues.

Regarding insights into SAP entitlement upload process in ServiceNow, it typically involves configuring an import set table, a transform map, and a schedule job to automatically import and process the entitlement data from external sources such as spreadsheets or CSV files. The imported data can then be used to update records in various tables such as software models and licenses.

It's important to ensure that all necessary fields are mapped correctly during this process to avoid errors or inconsistencies in the resulting records. Additionally, regular reviews of imported data can help identify any discrepancies or issues early on so they can be addressed promptly.

Thanks

Amarjeet Pal
