Software Installation vs Software Discovery Model

In the SAM implementation course it mentions the following:

 

"If a Software Installation record matches a record found in the Software Discovery Model table, then the Software Installation table updates the software discovery model record."

 

If there's a match with a discovered model already found, then what information is updated in the Discovered Model table?

I found the text part you mentioned in my documents (SAMP, Madrid 2019) and additionally this text (screenshot). The part mentioned by you seems rather "unhappily formulated", since as already stated by all of us it is only an update of the reference to the software installation.

Hi Elie,

 

If there is a match found with the discovery model it will still update the software installation under that discovery model. Hope this helps you.
