Software Installations appearing as Unlicensed Installs even if Entitlements are not entered

Hi all,

Softwares in Software Installation table are showing as Unlicensed Install = true and Is Reconciled = true, even though they are not added in the entitlements table.

Can anyone help me to understand why Is Reconcile is true  and Unlicensed Install is true? How do these fields turn true? On what Criteria?

How does the SAM job executes or reconciles? does it reconciles all the Publishers available in Software Installation table?

Any quick help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Pranita

Unlicensed Install - False means a licensable install is not tied to an entitlement or is tied to an entitlement that doesn't have enough licenses to cover it

Is Reconciled - False means the installation is new and reconciliation hasn't ran since it's been there. Reconciliation runs weekly by default, so you would get "false" values if new installs are found in between default recon runs.

hi @Alex Panzarella , you mentioned that the software installation will be marked as "unlicensed install" if it is tied to an entitlement that doesn't have enough license to cover it. Therefore, where will the installation be located, in SAM workspace, if I have "0" license owned with some license usage? Will the usage be put under "Licenses Required" or under the "Unlicensed Installs" in the Progress indicator?

Hello Pranita,

The Attributes you are referencing are stamped by the Reconciliation Engine and aren't necessarily meant for reporting.

However, to answer your question. Licensable Software is reflected in Reconciliation results even when there are no entitlements unless there is a SW Model with a Discovery Map covering those software installations and the "License Under Management" checkbox is unchecked. In this case, Reconciliation would skip over that software product and the related software installations.
