Software Model Results - Not Compliant - showing unlicensed install wrong, for example the same user and same asset will continuously come up as unlicensed install because of the different versions and updates being installed.

So for example if I had 2 different assets i would come up twice which is fine the licence allows unlimited installs, but in ServiceNow every time there is a licence installed for the updated version it will continuously add it as a unlicensed install, when it should not do this. Can anyone help or know how we can fix this ?

one user should only have there version and asset so that the licence can become compliant, why does servicenow do this ?

Hello Sadia,

There have been some issues reported where SCCM doesn't remove the SW Installation record for a previous version when a new update/upgrade has been applied.  In this case, because there are two SW Installation records for the software, two rights would be consumed.  If you are seeing multiple versions of the same software linked to a single CI, you may want to open a case with ServiceNow Customer Support to find a resolution.

If your issue is that reconciliation is calculating results incorrectly for a Per User license metric when that software allows multiple installations across several CI's, then you should investigate the Metric Attribute settings on the Software Model Record.  Documentation on the Software Model Record is found here. Metric Attributes are addressed at the bottom of the page.
