True-Up Cost is not populating in Software Asset Workspace

Hi experts,

I've entered a cost in the software model and the software entitlement. Also,  Software Model (and linked entitlements) where I have assigned a cost are mapped to the correct Software Discovery Model as well, still True-up cost is coming as $0 in software asset workspace.

Can you please help me out what could be missing? And does 'Run Reconciliation' button related to True-up cost?

Regards,

Kajol

Hello,

Do you have any unlicensed install  present for that any particular software model in your instance which has an active entitlement present also with cost details, if yes then only the true up cost value will be visible. If you don have any unlicensed install then true up cost will zero.

Thanks!

Hello @KajolM ,

If you are having unlicensed install or subscription & you have correctly configured the entitlement(license type = subscription & license metric = user subscription if user based for SAAS product) record then in that case true up cost report should have some value if not then you need recheck again if you are missing something.

Thanks!

Hi Subham,

Seems like we don't have any unlicensed install. However, we do have Unlicensed subscriptions. PFA screenshot.

Could you please help me in understanding how unlicensed installs are related to True-up cost? I believe, true up cost depends on software compliance as it's formula says True-up cost = average price of each license * no. of licenses required to be compliant.

Hello @KajolM ,

Yes you are correct. True up cost is amount of more licenses that you need to purchase so that you will become complaint. For your unlicensed subscriptions, Can you check if you have active user subscription type license present for that software model which also has cost value present on the record.

Thanks!
