I have a software title that allows an unlimited number of software installs. What is the proper way to set up software entitlement/model to track this? I would rather not enter a random number of software licenses. Thanks!

Hi Tonie,
Are you talking about a site-wide license where you can have unlimited installs across your organization? Or do you mean the ability to install software an unlimited number of times for a single user, while having it consume only a single entitlement?
Thanks,

I wish I had a great answer for you, but I'm not aware of any functionality for this in ServiceNow. These types of licenses are hard to represent because SAMP is designed around deployment compliance and financial impact, and these licenses have neither. Most people input a random high number for the quantity just so they can show compliant, but this will impact your financial reporting for that model unless you leave cost at $0. You might submit this through the Idea Portal (above) to see if this can (or will) be added in a future release.
Thanks,

On the SW Entitlement, set the <Agreement Type>
Note: If the agreement type is Enterprise License Agreement or Unlimited Level Agreement, the Status is Compliant even if there are unlicensed installations.
Hope this helps!
