We're using SAM Pro with SaaS License Management integrated with Azure AD for license management, spend, etc. We have quite a few SSO Applications that encompass multiple AD groups for granting different license types (e.g. reader, writer, admin, etc.). Each SSO Application is associated with a Software Model and then we have one or more Software Entitlements associated with each Software Model for tracking spend, over and under utilization, etc. Back when we were on Rome, there was no way to associate different license costs with different license types for subscriptions associated with SSO applications. However, San Diego introduced the "Subscription Condition" field on the Software Model, which we can use to limit what the Software Model associates with. In the "Subscription Condition" field, we can build conditions against the SSO Application role/group. I've created a few Software Models and set the Subscription Conditions to apply to different AD groups for one of our SSO Applications but I'm not sure how we associate those Software Models with the SSO Application. Does the association happen automatically somehow? Is there something else I need to do to associate the multiple Software Models with the SSO Application? Thanks in advance.

Hi Chad,
This is exactly the same process I have followed (below) but I still get an automatically created model with no conditions that gets associated to the software subscription, and the two i have created get completely ignored.
NB: I don't have automatic models created via the SAM properties either.
Thanks,
James

@James Rostron - please ensure you have entitlement for the models you created, that's when they'd show in the Reconciliaiton.
However, I have had no luck with the subscriptions reporting against these models, they are added to the automatic model.
Please let me know if you were able to figure this out?

Thanks Chad, that's really helpful. In spite of adding the conditions I can't find the subscriptions added to the model. I added the filter "SSO subscription.SSO application role" is "name of the AD group" which has the licensed users. Am I doing something wrong?

So I did eventually figure this out but again it is not really mentioned in documentation which is really frustrating.
It does work adding a subscription condition but the column you need to add to the software subscription <samp_sw_subscription> table to check is "Licensable software model"
It should have the correct model then associated to it which will reflect in the workspace.
More documentation around this is definitely required!!

@James Rostron - Thank you, the "Licensable Software model" field is however greyed out for me. I cannot make changes to this field in the Subscriptions table. I have added the application as it is set up in Azure in the SSO subscription.SSO application field and the AD group for the licensed users in the SSO subscription.SSO application.role field. This is the only other option available in the drop down for SSO subscription table
What am I missing?
