What is the best way to track 'approved' and 'non approved' software with SAM

We are using the original SAM plugin (working on an upgrade to Foundation or Pro), but I want to be able to track and report on software that has been approved for use in my organisation, and conversely software that has not - possibly with a view of removing that software.

I notice the 'Certified' field on Software Model table [cmdb_software_product_model], and from what i can tell this could be used, but is really intended for use with APM.

Are there any issues with leveraging this field, or is there a better way to track 'approved' and 'non approved' software please?

Many Thanks

Hi @Community Alums, there is nothing to add to your investigation, I've used this field for the same purpose without APM - go for it.
