How did you implement Service Operation Workspace?

My organization is looking into implementing the Service Operation Workspace for our Service Desk and a few other operation teams. We were wondering what others' implementation experience. Did you develop in-house and deploy or did you bring in a partner? What were some of the lessons learned from the implementation.
