How to display a pop up with field when we click on ui action?

Hi All,

Actually we have requirement that, basically on the catalog task in workspace we need a ui action "Ask approval" when we click on that need to display a pop with Approver field ,Actually already we have approver field on catalog task form , so we need to display that field on pop up , when we we select approver and click on , ok, then it needs to update that field with approver

Please help me to achieve this

already you have approver as catalog variable?

What's the business requirement to show that on pop-up?

Are you saying you want to update the catalog variable when they select the approver?

If yes then why not allow them to edit the variable on catalog task form itself?

Actually we have requirement that to select manual approval , so for that we want create ui action , in that when they click o that ,it will display the pop up , n that we need to provide approver field to select the approver and click on ok , then automatically , approver needs to add into that

is this for catalog variable present on sc task form?

If yes then why not allow to edit that variable rather than using popup?

no, we donot have approver variable on the catalog item
