Hello Everyone,
I have a requirement from customer where they want to show a user-editable field on a standard change template.
This will allow end-users to enter some detailed information while raising the standard change.
An example screenshot is given below.
I would want to know if it is at all possible to add such editable fields on standard change template.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Everyone,
I have figured this out.
Thanks @Ankur Bawiskar for giving me the hint and showing me the way.
SOLUTION:
- Add a new field in Change Request table (e.g. Additional Information)
- Open the standard change template (that is already created)
- Click on Modify Template
- Right click on top bar and select New Variable
- Click on Map to Field -> select the new Change Request field that was created in 1st point above
- Enter question name, text, variable type, etc. and Save
That's it -- you'll have a new editable field on the standard change template catalog form.
Thanks Everyone for your time.

If you're setting up a catalog item, you can do this with variables. Can you elaborate more on how users would request a change? Are they doing it from the portal? If so, are they doing it via a catalog item/record producer?

Hi @jcmings
Requestors will request from the portal.
We have only created a standard change template - and it is accessible from service portal because we have placed it under a service catalog category.
If you see my screenshot in my 1st post - there is only a Submit button in it and no other fields.
So, now the requirement is to add a field which will be editable.
Please let me know if that is feasible.

I doubt this is possible without creating a new variable
If my response helped please mark it correct and close the thread so that it benefits future readers.

That is exactly what I would like to know.
Is it possible to add a new variable to a Standard Change Template and then show it on portal form, so that end users can input values into it?
