Service Operations Workspace. Cant replace original Incident Overview tab with variant

So I have a requirement to remove the 'Impact' section from the overview tab on incident overview. I created a variant and set its order to a lower one than the OOTB version but the original version still takes precedance and i cannot get SOW to display the variant/modified page

 I dont know if i have missed a step somehwere or failed to do something. SOW is quite new to me. Any help is appreciated

Ok I have fixed this issue by deleting all previous variants and then following the documentation to the letter:

It somehow worked fine this time but I dont know why. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Make the Original Variant "active" false.

Thanks for your response. I tried that right after i made the variant but its doesn't seem to save. I made it inactive hit save and nothing happened. When i refresh it is active again and i thought that might be read only too

@Mike62  try clearing cache if that helps and make sure the current logged in user meets the screen condition in the new variant you created, and if you have added any applicability or audience record the user must pass those as well.
