Adding an approver to knowledge articles

Hi everyone, I am trying to set up approvers for Knowledge and all documentation I am finding says that "Knowledge_Group_member" should allow a user to approve, however my user is not showing up in the approvers list.

Hi Joey,

You need to go into Knowledge > Administration > Knowledge Bases, select the Knowledge Base you want to add your approvers to and add them to the "Manager" list.

When added they will inherit the required roles to approve.

You can find more info in the following links

Assign a knowledge base manager

Knowledge manager

Thanks,

James

I've added him as a manager in that part of the knowledge base but he still doesn't show up.

Even if it did, the matrix for knowledge management roles indicates that Knowledge_group_member and knowledge (can contribute) can approve knowledge, knowledge manager has significantly more rights than I want to give to the approvers.

Hi Joey,

The default approvers are the Knowledge Base Owner and the Knowledge Base manager(s).

The other thing to just check is that the "Knowledge - Approval Publish" workflow is set on the relevant Knowledge Base

If the approver is still not showing can you confirm one of the below:

Are you referencing articles that have already been created (and the approver does not appear)?

or

Have you created a brand new article and observed the new approver is not available?

Thanks,

James

Neither the owner nor the manager I have set are added as approvers upon creating a NEW article in said knowledge base.
