Assignment Group Condition - Please help

Heya,

I have a question regarding assignment group condition.

We've got 3 groups

Assignment Group 1

Assignment Group 2

Assignment Group 3

The individuals in these assignment groups are distinct, but there are two members who belong to all the 3 assignment groups.

The condition we are looking to configure is:

People in each group shouldn't see tickets from the other groups. Like, Assignment Group 1 shouldn't peek at what's in Assignment Group 2 or Assignment Group 3, and vice versa.

However the two members I was referring to, should be able to see all tickets that are in these groups.

How can we achieve this please ?😊

Just double check how the existing functionality in working.

My understanding is - if you try my impersonating any of those 2 users & check what tickets you are able to see, you will find that you can see all 3 group tickets.

If that is not happening, mostly the read ACLs are not configured properly for current assignment groups.

Do mark the response as HELPFUL if it added some value to your understanding.

Hi @rrajagopal

As experts already replied, but i still have a question are you using Domain separation? Practically you are making it very complicated

Bcz 2 members can see all records but the rest of member in each group not see each other.

1. If the two members your are talking about, are in all assignment groups. That should solve your problem. Then they as member of each group, should be able to see tickets not only of their group but also of the others one.

2. If you have an Admin role, I think it should be possible for you to easily assign in each group what member of the group could see or couldn't.

I hope the answer was helpful 🙂

Hello @rrajagopal,

Basically, you will deny access to tickets anybody who is not member of the assignment group of the ticket right?

Because the two members you are referring to are members of all the groups, then they will see all the tickets. You don't have to put in place any specific logic.

What other questions or comments do you have?

Philippe
