Capturing Regional Information in the CMDB

Hello,

So we have an infrastructure of regions that we call POD's.   These POD's have a group of offices in them that are supported by a particular infrastructure of switches, routers, servers, etc.   We want to be able to name these POD's in the CMDB and reference all the underlying items that support it.

Has anyone done anything like this before and if so what Configuration Class did you use?

So what I ended up doing was creating my Region as a Business Service.   Since many items are used to support this service and I would never be performing a change truly against the whole region I did not want to create it as it's own Class.

With in my business service I have defined which offices use this, what other business services are for this region and then defined the infrastructure underneath that supports my region.   Within each branch I have put their specific routers and switches.
