Just wanting to get some use cases of how everyone is using the owner and manager fields on CIs.
When you hover over owner it states - Business Manager
When you hove over manager it states - IT Manager
I've not found specific docs about the uses either so far. I would assume the manager is use for incidents/support work and the owner is more for development?
I understand that you can customize how the fields are used, but OOB do certain approvals or tasks go to either field?
Thanks!

I think those assumptions are reasonable as far as your intended usage of the fields. As for whether or not they're used for anything there's not a single, simple way to identify if something in the system is using those fields but I can say in over 10 years of working with the product extensively, I've never seen any out-of-box configuration that ties into those fields in any way. If you did find something in the future, an update to that configuration should be relatively simple.

My thought process of the Manager would be the one handling issues for the CI and the Owner would be the one who is in charge of the CI overall.
My main concern was whether or not those fields were tied into approvals or any other OOB process. Sounds like you are saying there are none of these...correct?
As for assignments we just have them go to the support group.
