Default Font and Font Size for Knowledge Articles

Hello;

I am trying to figure out what is the default font and font size when creating a knowledge article.

I copied and pasted in Word and it looks like it is Verdana - 8.5.   Could you please confirm.

I also noticed that the Font size drop-down menu does not seem to bring the correct size.

I used Word again and this is what I get:

In Service Now:   Font size 7 — In Word:   7.5

In Service Now:   Font size 7.5 — In Word:   10

In Service Now:   Font size 8 — In Word:   12

In Service Now:   Font size 10 — In Word:   13.5

In Service Now:   Font size 12 — In Word:   18

We are also using different templates.   Is there a way to set the font and font size by default in a template?   Using Font Family and Font Size drop-down menus do not seem to work as expected and is time consuming to try and get an idea of what it will look like after publishing.

Thank you.

We are also facing this problem with the text editor.

The fonts available on the text editor are in .pt (as follows):

  • 7pt
  • 7.5pt
  • 8pt
  • 10pt
  • 12pt
  • 14pt
  • 18pt
  • 24pt
  • 36pt

In Eureka, it adds a style with the selected font.

In Helsinki, it's erratic. It sometimes add style="" attribute OR the <font size=""> attribute. The <font size=""> gives different values if you check the source code.

What we did to fix this is: create multiple article submission forms that only accepts plain text and the system will automatically apply the font-size.

Hi Charles, thanks for the information.

So there is no way to change the default font and size from the Knowledge Article Form?

Could you please explain a bit more about the multiple forms in plain text?

Thanks

I mean fields. so we have multiple fields (3 max):

A text field for:

  • Title
  • Introduction
  • Content

All of these are processed after user submits an article. We apply specific formatting to each section and combine everything as a single article.

I am experiencing the very same issue.   It would be nice to get some resolution on things like this...
