FLOW - Service Catalog - updated RITM variables

Hello,

I have a flow which is triggered by the Service Catalog.

Using the ootb action Get Catalog Variables.

Then in the Catalog Task - genereted from the Create Catalog Task - Assignee will update variables.

If I want then to operate on those variables (for example for each on the multirow variable set) the flow does not recognize the update in the manual task - it determines the value as it was during the request was submitted.

The issue is with all types of variables (not only for the multi row variable sets).

I know that there is a possibility to Look up for the variable using sc_item_option_mtom table - however it is more complicated with multi row variable set.

Also If I added another action Get Catalog Variables after the RITM variable was updated in Catalog Task - it does not work.

Any solution to refresh RITM variables in flow ?

Hi,

Whenever I've encountered this, it has been enough to do another Get Catalog variables after the Catalog task in completed.

Can you share your Flow configuration? Specifically the steps from the Catalog task is created, and the subsequent Get Catalog variables, and the step where you use the non-working variable.

Tried once again with the another Get Catalog Variables action after manual task is closed - works as expected.

Thanks !

Hello,

Just wanted to say that I too have used the "Get Catalog Variables" action to get the updated variable values and have had no problems. There's a few ways to do what you're trying to do, but using the no-code way of things is the better option and you easily get the new value of the variable(s) with the 2nd action and then just ensure you're tapping into that 2nd action pill for the variable and not the first.

Hi,

Glad it worked. If you were accidentally using the wrong variable, such as from step 1, instead of the 2nd step where you used the action again...I hope my call out helped and guided you.

Take care! 🙂
