Google Chrome crashing when a list view loads on MacOS

When using the latest Chrome stable release (90.0.4430.93 (Official Build) (x86_64)) on MacOS Big Sur (11.3.1 (20E241)), I have been experiencing frequent crashes of Google Chrome when a list view in ServiceNow loads. It doesn't crash every time a list view loads, but it's frequent enough to be a major issue. The entire browser (not just a tab or window) completely crashes and I must relaunch the app afterwards. This seems to happen more frequently if the list view has grouped results, but not always. It can happen when looking at a list, a form with a related list, or a list-based report. There haven't been any changes in the ServiceNow environments I use recently. The only change I know of is that I got the Chrome update the week of 4/26/2021. MacOS had been updated 3/23/2021 (11.2.3) and then 5/4/2021 (11.3.1). This issue started the week of 4/26, if I remember correctly.

I know others have been experiencing this, but has anyone been able to determine the cause or a fix? I doubt it's anything that ServiceNow did recently (this happens in Paris and Quebec for me), but I'm guessing it's related to the latest stable Chrome version.

They said to disable Chrome accessibility settings - but that did not work for me.

They also closed my case as not reproducible and of course any time you go on a Zoom session with them to test, it never comes up

Just use Firefox has no issues.

Something that has seemed to provide me temporary relief is to turn off chrome accessibility settings.

1) Enter: chrome://accessibility in your browser.

2) Uncheck these two options. find_real_file.png

I'm experiencing the same issue on a M1 MacBook Pro using Brave (chromium-based).

Brave info:

Version 1.25.73 Chromium: 91.0.4472.106 (Official Build) (arm64)

This is happening to me on every rendering of a list.

Chrome:

Version 91.0.4472.114 (Official Build) (x86_64)

Mac:

macOS Big Sur, version 11.2.3 (20D91)

I did a small test in Safari and it was fine.

Tried Brave (Version 1.26.67 Chromium: 91.0.4474.114) and had the same results as Chrome (as expected).

Short term solution is to move to Firefox as others have noted success.

Same here for me as the others - it is happening since approx.2months. I can "easily" reproduce to go to any instance and try to open SOME (not all) filtered lists. It happens to me usually couple times a day. Safari works without any issue.

Chrome: Version 91.0.4472.114 (Official Build) (x86_64) + versions before (i try to stay up to date)

Mac: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019), MacOS Catalina 10.15.7
