How can I change the icon on a catalog item or record producer?

I have found a bunch of these and the advice never fixes my problem.

In the service catalog I want to change the icon that appears next to the one record producer that I have, so that it's the same as the Catalog Items.

Yesterday I tried OVER AND OVER AND OVER again to change it this way

1. Click on the pencil for the Category

2. Find the Catalog Item that I wanted to update and click on that (it's the one circled in red)

3. Click on Icon Click to Add (highlighted), and find a gif file that I downloaded to my desktop. Actually, I downloaded it from the ServiceNow icon that was next to the catalog Items and saved that as generic_small(1).gif (actually it downloaded as a gifx, but for some reason, I can't pick that so I changed it to a gif)

4.   That did nothing, so I tried jpgs, and that didn't work...until I walked in this morning.   Now instead of an icon that I chose one of the jpgs that I tried is now on the screen.

5. I read that I should clear the cache on my browser.   No change.

6. I tried going back to step 3 above....no change

7. I tried going into Content>Images, Design>Images, System UI>Images and searched for name contains "gen" (to find something by the name of "generic") nothing.   However, not that it matters if I could find something, because when I change the icon it only allows me to upload a new Icon, not choose anything from the system.

Any ideas?
