How to translate knowledge articles from English to Spanish

I activated the Internationalization Plugin and Spanish.   I followed the steps provided below, but the articles are not translating.   In fact, the text box is blank unless i copy and paste the data into the article.

Is there something else that must be activated to make this work?

  • 18N:Knowledge Management Internationalization v2 plugin
  • Internationalization plugins for each appropriate language

Create a translation for an article from the Translated Versions related list on the knowledge article record. Before creating a translation, activate the internationalization plugin for the desired language which, in turn, activates the I18N: Knowledge Management Internationalization Plugin v2 (com.glideapp.knowledge.i18n2).

  1. 1.       Open the knowledge article record.
  2. 2.       In the Translated Versions related list, click New.
  3. 3.       Select the desired language for the translation in the Language field.
  4. 4.       Provide a description in the Short Description field.
  5. 5.       Click Submit.

The translation is created and added to the Translated Versions related list.

Not sure if you understand it correctly. It doesn't automatically translate them for you. You still need to write the articles manually. but by using this plugin, a user can go to an article and there then choose language and ServiceNow keeps that relationship know if they are on Article KB00200 (which is in english) and choose Spanish in the dropdown, it opens KB00201 instead.

Thanks for the info.   in another forum i was told the system automatically created a translation for knowledge if the correct plug-in was selected, example English to Spanish.
