The Service-now.com Content Management System (CMS) is designed to provide a b2c interface between the IT department and the user community. Rich in functionality, the CMS uses a familiar interface while integrating with the existing Sevice-now.com implementation. Robust style and customization options allow easy corporate branding and standards-based building blocks designed for use by non-programmers. This session will provide an overview of the CMS and focus on the Pioneer Natural Resources and Queensland Transport deployments.

Update sets are how I move sites and all of the collateral associated with the site in between environments. One thing to remember, if you are making revisions to an existing site (or an out of box site) you will be better served to create a new update set, activate the set, and then COPY the existing site, then you will be guaranteed that everything is actually IN the update set. The site "copy" action copies the Blocks, Themes, Pages, Layouts, and any other Update record that you make while the set is active.
This is important in the fact that when make your modifications and redesign the collateral, they will not conflict with any element within the old site, perhaps you need to run both the old and new for testing or comparison either way you will be making changes that only impact the site you are working on.

We are seeing some strange stuff when promoting CMS code in update sets.
We apply the update set to one instance and some buttons are missing. Then apply it to another instance, those buttons are there, but something else is missing.
Has anyone seen this? Any solutions?

Without specifics it is hard to understand this issue, but here is a thought that may explain what is occurring. Update sets will not overwrite existing customizations, meaning if you are trying to push a change via an update set to any form you have already modified, (look in your Customer Updates table) the customization will take precedence over the record in the update set.
Take a look at this book for some more detailed info on how update sets work.

I am in the Content Management portal attempting to edit a copy of the OOB Employee Self-Service portal I've created and when I click the 'Edit Page' related link for the main page I just get a blank page. I checked and both of my Content Management plugins are active. I am running the Aspen release. Am I doing something wrong?

I am working on a customized self service portal for our Company and I've uploaded logos for the homepage pods and the main banner logo but they are not showing up when I log in as a true ESS user. Is there security I need to be aware of somewhere within Content Management? Side Note - I am working on an MSP instance in case that could have anything to do with the issue I'm seeing here.
Thanks!
