Knowledge library category order

We have various different categories in our knowledge base, but I'm noticing they are sorted in random order.   Is there a way to assign a specific order to the categories?

Hi, josh_brostoff,

There's no Order field available on kb_category.list, so unfortunately you won't be able to assign a specific order. On $knowledge.do, the order should be alphabetical within a specific knowledge base if you're browsing directly.

However, if you search, the categories will appear random if you haven't selected a specific KB when they should actually be in alphabetical order within alphabetically organized knowledge bases. For example, if you have 5 Knowledge Bases, titled A, B, C, D, and E, and each of those Knowledge Bases contains 5 categories, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, B1, B2, etc...

In the search results, you may see something that looks like that following

Knowledge Bases

B

D

E

Categories

B2

B4

D1

D4

D5

E3

E5

It will look like the categories are random, but they're actually in alphabetical order within the alphabetically organized Knowledge Bases.

If this answer helped you, please mark the response as helpful or correct.

Thanks!
