Patch management using SCCM via Servicenow

Hi,

I am currently evaluating servicenow, Our infrastructure is basically SCCM backed. So far we have managed to use SCCM to approve windows updates. I would like to know is there a feature in servicenow which can manage Patches via sccm, so that we can directly approve windows upgrades from the servicenow portal. I tried to find any documentation regarding patch management and sccm integration, but it leads me to nowhere. please kindly provide resources if any.

I don't think so, because its just a simple task of approving an update patch, it would be nice if i have it in place with service now, I have seen self service software deployment via servicenow using sccm. is there any thing even third party apps like the one I mentioned for self service software deployment ?

Hi Kavin. There is nothing that I'm aware of that currently exists to do this, although would be interested to learn your requirements. Please get in touch: hello@automys.com

Good afternoon,

Within the Geneva release they have significantly improved functionality along these lines.

Geneva Orchestration Core release notes

The specific information you are likely interested is here:

Client software distribution

The client software distribution (CSD) application allows administrators to distribute software from the service catalog using third party management systems. Client software distribution allows an administrator to create all the records necessary to deploy software from service catalog requests, including software models and catalog items. CSD also integrates with Software Asset Management to track license counts for deployed software. Deployment is accomplished using Orchestration activities and workflows.

Note: You can use the CSD application to automate the deployment and revocation of software from an SCCM host using the custom SCCM activity pack or to manage license counts for deployed software.
