Reference field on Knowledge Article template

Dear experts,

We are using Zurich version

I have created a custom article template for knowledge base and included a reference field "Project" (referencing pm_project)

While creation of article using this new template, the user selects the project in this reference field. But on publishing this article, the reference field value is not shown on the published article. How can we show this reference field value in the article?

Thanks,

AP

Hi,

This sounds like you created the reference field directly on the extended knowledge table? Rather than as a knowledge article template field as per the docs? Only certain fields are supported OOTB and designed to be presented on the knowledge form view

Hello Kieran,

Thanks for your response. Yes I added the reference field on the template table. And it works super because the articles show up in the referenced project (pm_project).  It seems to be working like any other table we have in servicenow, we can hide the fields and related lists we dont need. We can add custom fields to the extended table.  The only concern is that this custom field does not show up like other fields. Maybe we can copy the value of this reference field to another custom String field which can then be shown on the article and searched upon.

Confirmed from ServiceNow Support and this setup is possible by having a reference Project on Knowledge article custom template table.
