Variable set layout

The field layout in the variable set allows configuration up to 2 columns. Is there any configuration that allows more layout to be defined?

Hi Nithya,

Could you please elaborate the issue that you are facing.

And as Chuck Tomasi says, posting screenshots is always appreciated.

When we create variable sets, there is option to choose the layout on how the field should be displayed. Like for example, if we choose "1 column wide", then there would be only one field in the SR displayed, whereas if we choose "2 columns wide, alternating sides" then it would display 2 fields side by side.

My question is are we able to have more than 2 fields defined in the layout. I don't see any option at the moment. Is there any way we could achieve this?

Below is the screen for your reference.

Hi Nithya,

<updated version>

Although I dont think this can be done(correct me if I am wrong) ,because even DOM could break in later Servicenow Upgrade Versions.

But again, maybe you can consider using containers inside containers ,which again I am not sure could be possible for more than two columns.

Mohit explains below how this can be done! Thanks !-

Hi Nithya,

You can achieve more than two columns on the catalog form. Please follow the below steps:

1. Select 2 column layout in variable set.

2. Then use split inside the column to divide the column further.

Attached screen shot for your reference.

1. Focus on variable set layout and variables order.

2. Attach the variable set to a catalog item and view will look as below:

As you can see the form is in four column layout.

If helpful, please mark accordingly(correct, helpful, endorsed).

Thanks & Regards,

Mohit
