The question is pretty straightforward.
For email subject lines such as "Reg: Article KB0013668 has been revised", what does "Reg:" mean?

I don't know about this... "regarding" - especially in the email context - is pretty much standardized to be "Re:". And looking at list of "REG" abbreviations online, "regarding" doesn't even appear as a less popular abbreviation.
