What is the Purpose of Group List field

There is a field with name "Group List"  on task table OOB. Is there any specific functionality of this field.? I coiuldn't see any information on docs site. Can anyone please share some information about this field.

Hi,

I believe overall deep functionality with this field has been deprecated (this isn't the first time a field continues on in to newer version of ServiceNow without being directly used -- like in a business rule or notification, etc.). However, per this thread, there was an intended use and you could still most likely tap in to this:

Basically can use as a group watch list type field so you can send notifications out to other groups who may not be the direct assignment group.
