Why doesn't Knowledge Base Homepage and View display all the Topics

Knowledge Base > Homepage Link type: URL (from Arguments:) Arguments: knowledge_home_launcher.do   Issue - Displays 16 of the possible 23 Knowledge Topics.   How do I get the Knowledge Base Homepage to display all the Knowledge Topics?   Knowledge Base > Articles > View Link type: URL (from Arguments:) Arguments: kb_home.do   Note - Displays 20 of the possible 23 Knowledge Topics.   How do I get the Knowledge Base View to display all the Knowledge Topics?

Hi Mark!



knowledge_home_launcher is the new default landing page for Knowledge v3. You should see all configured Knowledge Bases as individual clickable boxes if the knowledge base is active and available to the user. If a KB is active or the user criteria is set to not allow users to see articles in that KB, the KB will not be shown. Once you're in a KB, the categories are used to navigate and filter articles.



kb_home is a legacy landing page that instead uses the topic field, which is now deprecated in Fuji and forward. These topics come from the articles and are defined in sys_choice. There's no relation between topics shown in kb_home and those shown in knowledge_home_launcher. kb_home will not show any topics in which there are no visible articles as defined by the roles field in the article. Also, kb_home only reads articles that belong to the Knowledge knowledge base as seen in knowledge_home_launcher.



Unless you have a specific need for kb_home, I would focus on knowledge_home_launcher and make sure the knowledge bases and categories match your requirements. kb_home, being deprecated and depending on a deprecated field, is not recommended for production use at this time for instances running Fuji or newer.

I have a similar issue with the knowledge base thing. I have 10 topics in all but when I select a knowledge base from the "Knowledge_home_launcher" page, it shows only a specific 7 topics and the categories as a dropdown to each topic. These topics were there right from the start, but when I tried to add more topics and categories, they were not showing up. I tried creating some knowledge articles for those specific topics and categories but haven't found any clue.



Any heads up on this issue would be pretty helpful.
