Dot walking is not working

we have a case record, under case record we have evidence record, under evidence record we have a evidence task record. So basically case is a reference field on evidence record and evidence is a reference field on the evidence task record. And also on case form we have a case type field. If the case type = standard, i need to show certain fields on evidence task record, i am writing a UI Policy evidence_task.evidence.case.case_type = standard to make those fields visible, but it's not working.

Hello @kthudi6

You are trying to Dot-walking 3 levels. Evidence Task-->evidence-->Case. Servicenow sometimes Doesn't support 3 or more than 3 level of Dot-walking. Dot walking more than 3 levels is not a best practice.

My suggestion is to write Glide Ajax. if you need any help with the code, i can help you.

@kthudi6 This multi level dot walking will not be supported via the UI Policy. Try using an onChange/OnLoad client script with a GlideAjax to show/hide fields.
