What are all the reasons why we use ServiceNow Groups?

I am trying to understand what the Possible uses of ServiceNow Groups are, if any apart from the following

1: Vulnerability & Remediation Assignments 

2: ITSM Assignments

3: Service mapping 

4: Location Data Mapping

5: To assign Fulfiller licenses

6: Integrating with the Different applications /tools Eg: JIRA integration 

7: To provide accesses to the group members 

Anything else that someone can help me with?

If referring to assignment groups, my first thought is roles/security. Much easier to maintain groups, then assign roles to users. That would be my #1

Group: As per definition, it is a collection of users who work towards a common goal. Groups make the work easy in SN. Bcz all users work differently in Org and the group is one key which states more about that. Like we have a group of BA / Dev/testers etc. Groups are helpful for work assignments and also in reporting. Via group, it is easy to take care of role assignments as well.
