Adding Task Description field to Planning Console selectable fields.

Is there a way to add the task Description field to planning console columns?  It not in the Columns Configuration pick list in my company instance of SN.  We have a need to populate the description field on most tasks and the only way I know to update this flied is to open the tasks details sidebar using edit.

Hi @artboulange ,

I have created the recording to showcase the steps - https://servicenow.zoom.us/rec/share/fwqi1LbNyHGuL5bW4S7PnikcLQunDLA6-oPpN7ZjAJ_uFFVz9bL2eMfy-Y_rVPZ...

Hope this helps.

Hi @artboulange ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community.

If you are expecting the view as shown in the attached screenshot then follow below steps:

1. All -> pm_project_task_list.do

2. Then change the view to project workspace

3. Select the personalize (NamitaMishra_0-1757338440507.png icon and then move the Description from 'Available' to 'Selected' .

Now check the project workspace.

Hope this answers the query, if it does then please mark the response as correct to help me and community.

Thank You!

Hi @artboulange ,

You can ask the admin to check this.

FYI,  below is the screenshot - just type pm_project_task_list.do and press enter key.

Hi Namita,

The screenshot is exactly what I would like to add to the view.  However, I don't seem to find 'pm_project_task_list.do' under ALL, I don't see it anyplace in the list and when I filtered for it, say not found.

Please help clarify where I can find this or is it possible in need to go to our site admin to give me access?

Ok so I am not sure if I am not following the right steps here or what.  I navigate to a project, open planning console then I click ALL enter pm_project_task_list.do in filter box and press enter.  What it does is jumps to a task list view screen (see screenshot) and yes, I was able to add Description to that view shown in the screenshot and Description now shows up in that view.  But then I go back to a project, open the project console and open up column configuration and it's not there as a selectable column to show up on the project console view.

What am I missing here?
