Can anyone tell how the resource hours are getting allocated based on the resource assignment

i am new to spm and learning , Can anyone tell how the resource hours are getting allocated based on the resource assignment though their capcity in system is 40 hours why they are allocated like 12, 12,6, 1 like that

For example bharat 2nd resource in screenshot. There resource allocation for june month is 31 hours how that is caluculated, and those are getting divided weekly as 12,12,6, 1 can anyone please explain or guide me on how these are numbers like capacity is getting calculated based on other projects or where i need to refer to understand this

Hiya - the 31hours is calculated based on the FTE which is 0.19 for that assignment from the screenshot. I'd advise you to bring the in Resource Allocation related list the column of FTE to see how the system converted it, like this:

Do note on my screen shot that 6 hours is equivalent of 0.75 FTE because the duration of the assignment is 1 day and default value in SN of 1 working day/FTE is 8 hours.

The distribution of  12, 12,6, 1  is likely due to the allocation spread which might be front load from the looks of it.

One way to check this is to bring the Resource Plan column in the Resource Assignments list and then navigate to the RP record and check the Allocation spread to confirm if it's front load or even:

If these checks don't provide the info you were looking for, I would then advise try to look into resource_allocation and resource_plan tables which sit behind resource assignments to try and merry up the data you are seeing.

Hi Paula,

Thanku for ur response for 31 hours i understand in my system i have raised resource assignment for a month with FTE effort as 0.19 so it gives me allocated hours as 31.

but still i am unable to understand how it got divided per week like 12,12,6,  1  i see the path u have told to check in the resource allocation configuration allocation spread is even. 

Basically i want to understand this scenario so i have a resource allocation per month like 163 hours for june month it got divided weekly like 37,37,37,37,15  my questions was if resource has a capacity of 40 hours per week why it is only adding 37 and sometimes other numbers want to understand how this working or dividing weekly.

Hmm..have you checked whether the resource has a schedule attached? that might impact its capacity as well as an operational resource assignment.

The schedule is in the User record:

Also, have you tried selecting in the Resource Workspace, from the first screen shot one of those red/green cells, it should display the breakdown of capacity/allocation, etc and that might give you a hint where to look
