Has anyone ever worked on any consolidation of ServiceNow instances where two companies are merging (or acquiring one another) and their processes and ServiceNow instances are very different? Any thoughts if this is even technically feasible?

I agree.
My question is about migrating a Table and columns so that I do not have to recreate each filed again.. any optimal way of doing that?

Migrating the related update set is the only way I see this can be done. XML export-import of columns (dictionary) wont work per my knowledge.
