Hi My name is Nehal Chavda. So blessed to have community like this. As a ServiceNow RiseUp Alumni with experience in UX Research & Design and Gen AI (Now Assist), I’m currently exploring the best career path where I can truly grow and make an impact.
At the same time, I’m a busy mom with a big family, so finding a role that offers growth, flexibility, and stability is very important to me.
I’m curious to learn from this amazing community:
1. What roles or career paths would you recommend for someone with my background?
2.Where should I focus to find the right opportunities—ServiceNow, UX, Business Analysis, or AI-focused roles?
3.Any advice on balancing career growth with family life? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi @NehalC
I’m a ServiceNow trainer and happy to share my thoughts with anyone beginning their ServiceNow journey.
ServiceNow is growing rapidly in both breadth and depth. The best way to start is by earning the CSA (Certified System Administrator) certification, which builds a solid foundation in platform fundamentals, terminology, and core modules. Once you gain hands-on experience through CSA, you can decide your next learning path.
Employers value professionals with multi-module expertise, so after completing CSA, consider exploring areas like ITSM, GRC, HRSD, CSM, or SecOps to broaden your portfolio.
Currently, the training is free, which is a great opportunity — though the real challenge lies in gaining hands-on experience. To overcome this, spend at least 1–2 hours a day engaging with the ServiceNow Community — read discussions, answer questions, and share your insights to strengthen your understanding and confidence.
If your goal is to become a developer, focus on building scripting skills using resources available on developer.servicenow.com. Regular practice will enhance your technical expertise.
Start with the CSA and then choose your direction based on your interests — whether as an Admin, Developer, Business Analyst, Change Manager, or Project Manager. A strong foundation will give you the flexibility to explore any of these paths.
Welcome to this vibrant community space where you can connect, collaborate, and grow. Share your ideas, seek guidance, and contribute to collective learning.
To take the next step, register on Now Learning and begin your ServiceNow learning journey today.

Hi and welcome to the Community @NehalC,
And thank you for sharing your story. It is always inspiring to see people who manage both career growth and family life. Wishing you a lot of success on your journey.
Regarding your questions, it is honestly not easy to give one clear recommendation. Career paths in the ServiceNow ecosystem can vary depending on your past experience, industry background and what kind of role you personally aim to become.
What was your previous experience and role? Do you prefer rather functional, technical, UX or business roles?
There is no single “best” answer that fits everyone.
I would also recommend checking the official ServiceNow learning resources and career journeys as seen below. ServiceNow provides well-defined paths that can help you explore roles and see what skills, trainings or exams are needed for each one.

FYI- Story from my--
A few months ago, I was completely new to ServiceNow. I didn’t know where to start or how the platform worked. Everything looked confusing at first, and I felt like learning it would take a very long time.
While searching on YouTube for some guidance, I came across Sir’s channel. That’s where my ServiceNow learning journey actually started. His way of explaining concepts in a simple and practical manner made things much easier to understand. Step by step, I started learning the basics, practicing in my own instance, and gradually building confidence.
Over the months, I realised how much I had grown. From not knowing anything about ServiceNow, I can now say that I’m no longer a beginner. There is still a lot to learn, but the foundation has become strong.
My small suggestion to anyone who is starting with ServiceNow: try learning from Atul Sir’s channel. Stay consistent, practice regularly, and keep exploring the platform. If you keep learning with dedication, I’m sure you’ll soon become confident and move towards becoming an expert.
