Outbound Email Properties Configuration To Configure Outbound Email Properties in ServiceNow PDI

I am learning the ServiceNow PDI Learning Course and the activities, steps etc., as provided in the lesson in the learning course at the URL link -> Outbound Email Configuration | ServiceNow Developers

 

I am following the steps as given in the lesson at the mentioned URL link.  I have enabled the Outbound Email Sending options as given in the lesson.  But even after updating the details as per the steps given in the lesson, checking for the status through the Email Diagnostics option, the Outbound Email Sending status still shows as " Non Operational " instead of " Operational " i.e., it shows the status as " Email Sending is Non-Operational " instead of " Email Sending is Operational "  !!

Yes, we can say it is gap, bcz till London Release, SN provides Email Servers and Accounts on PDI as well but after that there were some issue reported with regards to security and these servers/ accounts has been removed from PDI.

 

You ca follow the above post link to configure but that will bring all your personal emails in PDI and might create incidents as well, if inbound action is active.

Hi @DPP1 ,

 

SMTP configuration is required to send out email from ServiceNow, in previous releases of ServiceNow they provide but now they have stopped it.

 

you can create SMTP details and try, it may work as ServiceNow giving options to add SMTP details. I have not tried but I am assuming it should work.
