Hello!
I have a fairly basic question - When upgrading to Australia, does the Platform Analytics migration occur automatically during the upgrade or can you run the migration manually after the upgrade?
Thank you!
Jeremy

Hi @JeremyHoffman ,
You can run the migration manually using the Platform Analytics Migration Center. This allows you to migrate all artifacts at once or selectively upgrade specific Core UI dashboards.
Refer this article: Important Update on Legacy Reporting and Analytics with Australia Release
Due to customer feedback requesting additional time to prepare and review legacy content, Servicenow has extended to the time where may continue to create new Core UI reports, dashboards, etc. through the end of 2027.
As per Servicenow FAQ,
- What will happen to my legacy reports and dashboards when we upgrade to Australia?
- Answer: Nothing will happen to your legacy reports and dashboards. You may continue to run and view them as long as you wish.
- NOTE: Starting with Australia, legacy content will be accessible and integrated within the Platform Analytics UI. For example, you will see legacy dashboards in the same page as Platform Analytics dashboards.
- What if I encounter issues with my legacy dashboard or report after upgrading to Australia?
- Answer: If you experience crashes, unknown errors, or other problems with your legacy dashboards or reports, the resolution will be to migrate or recreate the content in the Platform Analytics experience. We will no longer support legacy dashboards and reporting, except for critical security issues, once you upgrade to Australia or later.

I did the same research when we recently upgrade and there is no mandatory migration yet. Find the details here https://www.servicenow.com/community/performance-analytics-blog/important-update-on-legacy-reporting...
I will say that we opted to migrate as a stand alone effort and not part of an upgrade. This allowed us more time to clean up reports, test, uat, training, instead of lumping it together with any potential changes with an upgrade. Then if issues did arise we would know if it was the migration or upgrade issue instead of trying to troubleshoot both at the same time.

@Tanushree Maiti & @Tony K & @goldenjc97
Thank you both for the information. Very helpful. Tony - we are actually doing quite a bit of clean up of unused reports and dashboards now to help ease the effort of the migration. We are not cleaning up OOTB reports and dashboards alone regardless of the last time they were viewed.
This will definitely help us with the migration. We wanted to do it before, but found that the known issue with the single score center justified setting isn't available until Australia affects a lot of our dashboards so we are holding off until Australia.
Thank you both again!
Best,
Jeremy
