Long Change Windows due to Hypercare

Some of our teams are creating Change Requests with long change windows to cover the break fix changes during the hypercare period, however but the problem here is limited traceability of the break-fixes applied to the specific CI and approvals to deploy as this is acquired manually and change details are covered in the work notes.

 

How are other organizations addressing break-fix changes completed during a hypercare period?

For one of our clients, after the production go-live, we encountered multiple break-fix scenarios.

Instead of scheduling a long change window, we raised emergency changes as needed, with deployments carried out during business off-hours, since their customization window was limited to a maximum of 24 hours.
