Minor change approval workflow

The current workflow in-use for our Minor change (Priority = 4 Low) Approval requires 3 level of approvals: peer review -> technical review (assignment group/line manager approval) -> Change management approval. My manager is also a member of the Change Coordinator group for the Change management approval. Therefore, she had to approve twice for a minor change raised by me. For Major Changes, she needs to approve the third time as a member of CAB.

Apparently this double technical review has been happening for quite some time.

We recently started looking into reducing this double/triple approvals. After testing in our non-prod instance by removing the technical review (assignment group/line manager approval) it seems working fine for minor changes (2 level approvals) and major changes (3 level approvals).

I have raised a case with ServiceNow support to verify if this is a OOB workflow for minor change approval.  

 I am interested to learn from other sites what is your minor change approval workflow. Appreciate any inputs.
