We install plugins in our environment for different product/functionalities which get new versions time to time. How you manage the process around management of these plugins? So these get upgraded in a controlled way when advance versions are available. Any leads to this area will be helpful as we have so many plugins installed in our system but we never upgrade unless we experience any issue in the functionality and ServiceNow suggest to upgrade the plugin to fix. But in general we wanted to setup a process.

You can apply change management accordingly. You can come up with normal / standard change templates to initiate plug in updates whenever It is applicable for your organization.

Thanks for your reply. I agree on this that once you identified the plugin to upgrade you raise a change and follow the change process. My question is more about process governance around the Plugins like When should be upgrade, how we get notify or monitor if upgrade is available, how to analyze functionality advancement in new plugins. What evaluation parameters to consider that now the time to upgrade.

Interested if you came to a way forward for this, it’s a common issue I find, and no documented recommended approach
