Selecting a Knowledge Base in the Portal vs. Search Function

Hello Community,


we use several application-specific knowledge bases.


When a knowledge base tile is selected in the knowledge portal, the filter is automatically set to that knowledge base, and only content from that knowledge base is displayed.

However, when a search is then initiated, it is performed globally across all knowledge bases and may also return results that are not present in the previously selected database. This is not user-friendly, as the filter then has to be manually set to the desired database again to display only results from it.


How can this behavior be configured to be more user-friendly?

All searches follow a search source. Now it is said global search because it searched everything which falls in realm of those search sources.

 

You can restrict it to a particular Knowledge base by changing the search source conditions but it will not be ideal.
