Recently we noticed that the reservation module seems to treat people with some roles differently. People with sn_wsd_rsv.reservation_planner and sn_wsd_rsv.bypass_module_validation are not restricted by the Max days in future for our reservation module. I thought it was restricting it before, but recently noticed that when doing a reoccurring reservation that it didn't have the "Maximum of XX week(s)" listed below how many weeks you could set the reservation to occur for. And now anyone with those roles are able to make reservations out as far as they like.
Does anyone know how we can change the reservation module so it would affect all people regardless of roles? I believe it used to even limit all users and would like to return to that so the interface shows precisely what all are allowed to do.

Observed similar issue. Why is this max day restriction not getting applied to admin level users?

I took a user who only was itil but not an admin and was still being restricted and tried adding each of those roles and verified in our Dev environment that either role works for them. Not sure why it changed, but I believe it was probably when we did monthly patches. But we give one of those roles to a group of people so now they all can bypass the day restriction.

Hello @Travis Michigan,
Admin users and users with the (inherit) role bypass_module_validation can skip several settings in the reservable module.
This has been done to provide super users (e.g. Event Planners, Concierge teams, and others) to ignore certain settings while planning or managing reservations.
You can find more information in this document page: https://www.servicenow.com/docs/bundle/washingtondc-employee-service-management/page/product/workpla...
The changed was introduced in Workplace Reservation Management version 2.16.0 (Feb-2025 release).
Kind regards,
Arvid

That is disappointing. We gave the planner role to anyone with subordinates to be able to adjust or cancel their associates reservations. Up until this patches this did not cause the problem of people being able to go beyond the intended limitations of the reservation module. It caused a problem we can't easily solve.
