Add an enhancement to a product or service

  • Add a product enhancement to a product or service to help you plan and manage the scope of its release.

    Role required: sn_dpr_model.product_manager

    About this task

    You can also add enhancement from an epic. For more information, see Add a product enhancement from an epic.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > Digital Product Release Workspace.
    2. Select the products and services icon (Products and services icon.).
    3. Select a product or service from the list to open.
    4. Select the Product enhancements tab.
    5. Select Add enhancement.
      Alternatively, you can also add enhancements or manage existing ones from the Release planning page of the product or service. For more information, see Plan product enhancements into different releases.
    6. On the Add enhancement dialog box, fill in the fields.

      Field Description
      Name Name of the product enhancement.
      Product feature Name of the product feature to which this enhancement will be associated to.
      Release Release to which the enhancement is associated.
      The list displays releases of the product that have the validates version set to true and are in the Pending state.
      Note:
      If you don't select a release, the enhancement is added to the product backlog.
      Priority Priority level for the enhancement. The level determines how much effort is needed to meet the enhancement's goals.
      Description Short description of the enhancement.
    7. Select Confirm.
      The product enhancement is created and opened in the Product Enhancement record page.
    8. Optional: On the Details tab, update the details about the enhancement, including its state, owner name, assignment group, assigned to person, and start and end dates.
    9. Select Link Epics to associate all the top-level epics being worked on by the development team.
    10. On the Link Epics dialog box, select the epics from the list, and select the Link Epics button.
      The selected epics are associated with the product enhancement and are listed in the Work Items tab.
    11. Optional: On the Work Items tab, select an epic to review its details and related records.
    12. Optional: Select the attachment icon (Attachment icon.) to open the Attachments pane to upload and attach a file related to the feature.
